EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing)

This internationally recognized treatment for trauma uses bilateral stimulation, typically eye movements to decrease stress and negative beliefs surrounding past traumatic experiences. EMDR is different from traditional therapies in that it does not require talking in detail about what occurred but rather focuses on changing the emotions thoughts or behaviors resulting from the distress. Sessions typically last from 60-90 minutes and often only a few sessions are necessary.

There is almost always some form of trauma we have experienced in our lives and EMDR is designed in such a way that its benefits can show overwhelming success for any type of trauma- both big and small.
